I got internet access at home from today. yeah! so I can write in here everyday from now on.
we got a cat one week ago! he was 10$. he is 7 week old and his name is ki-san. the veterinarian said he is too thin and he is lacking nutrition.. he might have been a stray before he came to the pet shop. ki-san is very active and friendly, so, we did not think that he was lacking nutrition at all. we started giving vitamin suppelment and canned food plus dry food. i hope he will be more healthy and live a long long life.
! yeah!! I am in albuquerque, new mexico! it is an awesome place. the town is cuter than I expected. I arrived here on the 4th. I dont have a phone or internet conection yet at my place. I am using a computer at universtiy of new mexico library right now. I have to get furniture, a bed, stuff like that... fun! hopefully we will get a cat, too. our apartment is much bigger (yet pretty cheap) than the former one we rented in portland, so, it is cool, but also weird, as we have to get so many things to make it look not empty.
anyway... exciting! I took photos in Utah on the way to new mexico, because Utah has beautiful landscapes. I'll put them here soon.. hopefully.
today, I'm planning to go to some antique stores. I hope I'll find nice things to put in my apartment.
I am moving out of my apartment and portland oregon tomorrow! Colin will be driving for 3 days till we get to New Mexico, where our new home will be.... I hope we will have a nice trip. I like portland a lot but I wanted to see somewhere very different. I really hope I will like it there. I will take a lot of pictures on the way to get there.
these two people will entertain you while I'm gone! arent they cute? they are from sur(real) de go
I took this photo two days ago in hollywood district of portland. not hollywood in los angeles, california. this theater's name is hollywood theatre. not hollywood theater. this photo turned out to be nice and blurry, I think...
I have to go to bed now.. it is 6:14 am. I stay up so late recently, i go to bed so early in the morning. I went to bed at 8am yesterday and woke up at 7pm.
boa noite! gute Nacht! buona notte! bonne nuit! oyasumi!
this image is taken from http://www.terra.com.br/ . isn’t it cute!? terra.com.br has really cool layout and colors. they even have cool advertisements. I hate pop-up ad banners, but recently I see advertisements with really beautiful graphics on the internet. I often stare at them as they are so well designed. I have a website at tripod.com.br., which is a part of terra.com.br. so, they have the same ad banners. I am very glad that there are ad banners with nice graphics and Portuguese words on my site as I love portuguese. I had a webpage from hpg.com.br. before, but their ad banners are ugly, so, I stopped using their service.
I think I am kind of obsessed with advertisements in general recently. if I dont like a company’s advertisement, I try not to use its product very hard. for example, I hate subway’s tv commercial. well, I do not like subway anyway, but that commercial makes me never ever want to go to subway.
terra.com.br. has the coolest page ever called expresso2222.terra.com.br.
Expresso2222 is obviously a song of Gilberto Gil. the page features him and very beautiful graphics. their flash page is phenomenal. I love Gilberto Gil so much! He has been actively making great music and been popular for more than 30 years straight.
for some reason brazilian and portuguese portal sites have great designs. www.clix.pt./ and www.terravista.pt should be good examples. terravista.pt has too many pop-up banners, though. american portal sites such as yahoo, lycos, altavista, etc, look very boring compared to the sites I mentioned above. I guess european people have really good sense of style. I have not looked at other countries’ portal sites yet, but I would like to do it soon.
Colin and I sold our old books to Powell’s and old clothes to Buffalo Exchange, and got more than $110 in total!! yeah! We are moving to New Mexico in 5 days, and we are planning to put all of our stuff in a car, so, we have to get rid of tons of things.
I got a new counter for my antville page yesterday from jellycounter.com. This is the best counter/site tacking service I have found so far!! it is free, and the counter can be in any style- any image, any fonts you want, and even invisible. I had thought you have to pay money to get an invisible site tracking until yesterday. I’m so happy about it! right now, my counter is invisible, but I’ll try to find nice graphics later.
other site tracking services I have used are sitemeter and webcounter and addfreestats. I like sitemeter a lot. it is from some north european country that I forgot. the banner is tiny and does not look like a counter or an advertisement. the statistics are in detail, but it does not count unique visitors. webcounter is from Bulgaria and the banner is also pretty small and cute, but the statistics pages are kind of confusing. addfreestats has ugly banners that change automatically. the statistics pages have pop up banners (I hate pop up banners.) but it tracks lots of information.
It seems my page loads a little slower after I put jellycounter. has anyone noticed it? other than that, I am totally satisfied with it. very nice.
